Athletics
I have gone through a couple of phases in my life when I have been a very keen athlete. The first was when I was a teenager which came to an end when I went to University and got distracted and the second was when I was in my mid-twenties which ended when I developed a bad back. Just before I developed my bad back I started to see some significant improvements in my performances coupled with an increase in my overall level of fitness and core body strength which meant I was starting to compete and train at the level of my natural talent. The increase in the volume and intensity of my training was probably the cause of my bad back, with the strength of my various back muscles outstripping their antagonists
Having to give up athletics was very hard for me and left a big void in my life especially as I realistically believed that I was nowhere near the peak of my potential.
